Business listings built from public information
Some listings here were created from publicly available business information — business name, category, area, phone number, website and public rating — obtained through the Google Places API and from businesses’ own websites. We do not scrape social media, and we do not send automated messages on social platforms.
A listing built this way is marked as unclaimed and shows only those public facts. We do not invent reviews, portfolios or descriptions for a business that has not claimed its page.
If a listing is yours and you would rather it were not here, you can ask us to remove it without an account and without giving a reason. We also add the business to a do-not-contact list so we stop emailing it.
What we collect when you use the site
If you create an account: your email address, and the password handling is done by our authentication provider — we never see or store your password.
If you request a quote: what you are looking for, your budget range if you give one, your preferred date, the age group if relevant, and the area you want the service in. The vendors you are matched with see this in order to answer you.
If you message a vendor: the contents of those messages, so both sides have a record of what was agreed.
If you are a vendor: your business details, services, prices, structured deposit and cancellation terms, portfolio photographs you upload, and your approximate base location so distance-based search works.
We record when a quote was answered so we can publish a typical response time, and we record cancellations and no-shows so we can publish a reliability score. Both are derived from real activity; neither is editable by the vendor.
Location
We use approximate locations — a point for a business and an area for a request — to work out distance. We do not track your device location, and we do not need or ask for a precise home address to run a search.
Who we share it with
Vendors you contact, and only the vendors matched to your request. A vendor never sees requests they were not matched to, and vendors matched to the same request cannot see each other’s conversations with you.
Service providers who run parts of the product on our behalf: our hosting and database provider, our transactional email provider, and AI providers used to suggest tags for portfolio photographs and to help draft listing descriptions. When we send content to an AI provider it is for that specific task.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not sell or pass on enquiries as sales leads.
Transactional email — a quote arriving, a message, a booking confirmation — is part of using the service, and you receive it because you are using the product.
Outreach email to a business about claiming its listing is separate. Every one of those carries an unsubscribe link and our postal address, we send no more than three, and once a business unsubscribes or asks not to be contacted we check that list before every send.
We do not send text messages.
Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Messages you have exchanged with a vendor can be deleted on request.
A vendor can unpublish or remove a listing. An unclaimed listing can be removed by anyone connected to the business, with no account needed.
One thing we do not delete on request: the record that a booking happened, where a review depends on it. Removing it would leave a review with nothing behind it. If you want the review gone, we remove the review.
